New heat therapy for prostate cancer shows promise in first patient

NCT ID NCT06128525

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This early study tested a new, less invasive approach for prostate cancer. One man received a targeted heat treatment (microwave ablation) guided by MRI and ultrasound before his scheduled prostate removal surgery. The goal was to see if the heat could safely kill cancer cells and potentially offer a gentler alternative to full surgery in the future.
