Summary

This Phase 3 study tested an oral medication called povorcitinib for people with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a chronic, painful skin condition. The 619 participants took either the drug or a placebo for 12 weeks, with many continuing for an additional 42 weeks. Researchers measured whether the drug reduced painful skin lumps and abscesses by at least 50%, eased pain, and improved quality of life.
