First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares posture and spinal mobility in 60 adult women with anorexia nervosa against healthy women of the same age. Using a special scanning tool, researchers measure how well the spine bends and extends. The goal is to understand physical changes linked to the disorder, which could help improve care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could reveal how anorexia nervosa affects posture and spinal movement, pointing toward better physical therapy or monitoring approaches.

What could go wrong

This is a small, observational study with only 60 participants. It does not test a treatment, so it cannot directly lead to new therapies. Results may not apply to all people with anorexia.
