Could better posture help stop bladder leaks? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07337278
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding posture and back-pelvis rehabilitation to standard pelvic floor muscle training can better reduce urinary incontinence in women. 78 women with stress, urge, or mixed incontinence will be randomly assigned to either pelvic floor training alone or combined with posture exercises using a balance platform. The main goal is to see if the combination improves leakage severity, symptoms, and quality of life over 12 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
pelvic floor muscle training and posturography rehabilitation
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a more effective non-surgical option for women with urinary incontinence, combining posture exercises with pelvic floor training.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 78 participants. The added benefit of posture training may be small or not statistically significant, and results may not apply to all types of incontinence.
