Which neck surgery hurts least? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT06803732

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will compare pain levels after three different surgical methods for removing lymph nodes in the neck (lateral neck dissection) in people with thyroid cancer. The three methods are robotic surgery, endoscopic surgery, and traditional open surgery. Researchers will measure pain on the day of surgery, and again at 1 month and 3 months after surgery, using a standard 0-to-10 pain scale. The goal is to find out which approach causes the least pain and discomfort.
