New study aims to predict kidney damage in kids after surgery

Summary
This international study will track 2,000 children aged 0-16 who have noncardiac surgery to see how often they develop acute kidney injury (AKI). Researchers will also test urine biomarkers as early warning signs. The goal is to better understand risk factors and improve prevention.
