Blood test could warn of Post-Op brain fog in seniors
NCT ID NCT07411612
Summary
This study aims to find out if simple blood tests taken right after surgery can predict which older patients will develop sudden confusion, known as delirium. Researchers will observe 1,170 patients aged 65+ having major surgery, checking their blood for specific markers and assessing their mental state for three days. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors identify at-risk patients earlier in the future.
