Simple exercises after emergency surgery may boost recovery in seniors

Summary

This study tests whether a structured physical therapy program after emergency abdominal surgery helps patients aged 65 and older regain their independence. 250 participants will receive either standard care or additional physiotherapy. The goal is to see if the therapy improves daily living activities and muscle strength up to 90 days after leaving the hospital.
