Scientists probe why opioid users suffer worse Post-Surgery pain

Summary

This study looks at why people with chronic pain or opioid use disorder often have worse pain after spine surgery. Researchers will collect small skin and blood samples to study genes and immune cells linked to pain. The goal is to find biological markers that could lead to better pain management. About 40 adults having elective surgery will take part.
