Stump infection may predict lingering pain after amputation

Summary

This study follows 150 adults who had a traumatic arm or leg amputation to see if a stump infection soon after surgery leads to persistent pain 3 and 6 months later. Researchers will track pain levels and infections to understand the link. The goal is to improve pain management and recovery for amputees.
