Tiny tube offers hope for cancer patients with dangerous vein blockages

NCT ID NCT07252570

Summary

This study looked back at a procedure to place a small metal tube (stent) in a major liver vein that was blocked by cancer. The goal was to see if this could safely relieve dangerous pressure buildup that causes severe fluid retention and bleeding. Researchers reviewed the outcomes of 63 patients who had the procedure to check if the stent stayed open and helped their symptoms.
