Could a single session help keep depression and anxiety at bay?
NCT ID NCT07208851
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a one-hour booster session of Problem Management Plus (PM+) can help adults in the Bahamas maintain improvements in depression and anxiety symptoms. Fifty adults who have already completed five sessions of PM+ will be randomly assigned to receive either the booster or a simple reminder call. Researchers will track symptoms over six months to see if the extra session makes a difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Problem Management Plus (PM+) booster session
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, low-cost way to help people maintain mental health improvements after initial therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study (50 people) with no blinding, so results may not be reliable or generalizable. The booster is only one session, which may be too brief to have lasting impact.
