First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested an injection called Plozasiran in 37 Chinese adults with familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS), a rare genetic condition causing extremely high blood fat levels that can lead to severe pancreatitis. The main goal was to see if the drug safely lowers fasting triglycerides (a type of fat) after 10 months of treatment. Participants received either the drug or a placebo, and those who finished the main study could continue on the drug for another year.
