Guatemala study links plastic burning to health risks in women

Summary
This study in rural Guatemala looks at how burning plastic waste affects people's health. About 400 women of childbearing age from 16 villages will take part. Half the villages will join weekly group sessions to learn ways to reduce plastic burning, while the other half will not. Researchers will measure air pollution and test urine for chemicals linked to plastic smoke. The goal is to see if these efforts can lower harmful exposures and improve health.
