First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a plant-based resistant starch, tailored to each child, can help restore a healthier gut microbiome in 80 children with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Participants will take the starch or a placebo for a period, and researchers will measure changes in gut bacteria and disease activity. The goal is to see if this dietary approach can improve gut health and reduce inflammation.
