Can a Plant-Based diet repair blood vessels in heart disease?
NCT ID NCT06994624
First seen Sep 02, 2026 · Last updated Sep 03, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
Researchers are testing whether a defined plant-based diet can improve blood vessel function in people with coronary artery disease. Participants will follow the diet while researchers measure changes in blood vessel health and heart rhythm over time. The goal is to see if this dietary approach can help manage the disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- A defined plant-based diet
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a dietary approach to help manage coronary artery disease and improve blood vessel health.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early, small trial, and diet changes can be hard to stick with. The results may not apply to everyone with heart disease.
