First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding the anti-inflammatory drug piroxicam to the standard emergency contraceptive pill levonorgestrel prevents pregnancy better than levonorgestrel alone. About 1,458 women aged 16-35 who had unprotected sex within 72 hours will take either the combination or a placebo. The goal is to see if the combo works better, especially for women weighing 75 kg or more.
