Misted chemotherapy shows promise for Hard-to-Treat abdominal cancers
NCT ID NCT07271355
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 3 trial tests a new method called PIPAC that delivers chemotherapy as a pressurized mist directly into the abdomen during a minimally invasive procedure. It compares this approach plus standard intravenous chemo (FOLFIRI) to standard chemo alone for people with appendix or colorectal cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen and cannot be removed by surgery. The study aims to see if the combination helps people live longer. About 129 adults with good performance status will participate.
