Surgery showdown: which technique heals faster?
NCT ID NCT07311707
Summary
This study compared two common surgeries for pilonidal sinus disease, a painful skin condition near the tailbone. Researchers wanted to see if closing the wound right after surgery (primary closure) leads to faster healing than leaving it open to heal on its own (open technique). They also looked at infection and recurrence rates to help doctors choose the best surgical approach.
