NCT ID NCT07408414

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares two standard local anesthesia methods—conventional and tumescent—for laser treatment of pilonidal sinus. 100 participants will report their pain levels on days 1, 2, and 7 after surgery using a simple 1-10 scale. The goal is to find which technique leads to less postoperative pain.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

lidocaine

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that tumescent anesthesia reduces pain after laser treatment for pilonidal sinus, improving patient comfort.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 100 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Pain is subjective and hard to measure precisely.
