Expanded access
Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)
Not a trial. The treatment could once be requested outside a study, but no longer can.

Summary

This trial tests three different physiotherapy approaches in people with chronic non-specific neck pain: structured exercise, sensorimotor training (focusing on neck position sense and balance), and pain neuroscience education (online sessions about pain mechanisms). Participants aged 18-65 with neck pain lasting over 90 days will be randomly assigned to one of the three groups for 8 weeks. The study measures disability, pain intensity, and other outcomes at the start, after treatment, and 4 weeks later to see which approach helps most.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
structured exercise program, sensorimotor training, or pain neuroscience education
What this could lead to
If successful, this could identify which physiotherapy approach best reduces disability and pain in chronic neck pain, guiding more effective rehabilitation.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial, so results may not apply to everyone. Some participants may not improve, and benefits could be modest or short-lived.

Phase

Not a phased trial

Phase numbers describe drug development. The registry uses this when they do not apply, as it does for trials of devices, procedures or behaviour changes, and for observational studies.
