Summary
This study looks at how age and sex influence the body's ability to manage phosphate after a single oral dose. Forty healthy volunteers in two age groups (18-25 and 63-70) will ingest 558 mg of phosphorus, and researchers will measure phosphate levels in the blood over time. The goal is to understand if kidney function decline with age affects phosphate balance, which could inform future dietary guidelines.
