Sound wave gel treatment soothes painful neck knots

Summary
This study tested whether using sound waves (phonophoresis) to push anti-inflammatory gel into the skin can reduce pain and improve neck movement in people with painful muscle knots (trigger points) in the upper shoulder. Twenty adults with trigger points took part. Researchers measured pain, pressure tolerance, and neck function before and after treatment.
