Student phone calls aimed to keep vulnerable patients out of hospital during pandemic lockdown

NCT ID NCT04359875

Summary

This study tested whether a simple phone call could help people with chronic heart or mental health conditions during the COVID-19 lockdown in France. Medical students called over 22,000 patients to check on their health and see if they needed their doctor. The goal was to see if this early check-in could prevent serious health problems and reduce hospital visits during a time when people were avoiding doctor's offices.
