NCT ID NCT07043816
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether five virtual sessions with a trained pharmacist can improve blood sugar, diabetes knowledge, medication adherence, and quality of life in adults with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes. Participants are randomly assigned to receive the tele-education program plus usual care, or usual care alone. The trial will also explore how acceptable and feasible the program is for patients.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
pharmacist-led tele-education program
What this could lead to
If successful, this program could offer a low-cost, scalable way to help people with type 2 diabetes better manage their blood sugar and daily life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 154 participants in one hospital. The results may not apply to all diabetes patients, and the program may not lead to lasting improvements.
