Summary
This study tests whether an experimental malaria vaccine (PfSPZ) is safe for pregnant women. Malaria can cause serious problems during pregnancy, including miscarriage and early delivery. The trial will involve 400 healthy pregnant women in Mali, some receiving the vaccine and others a placebo, with close monitoring of both mothers and their babies for up to a year after birth.
