This trial tests whether a single oral dose of lotilaner, a drug currently used in animals, can make human blood lethal to Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes, the main carriers of malaria. Healthy adults in Mali will receive either a low or high dose of lotilaner or a placebo, with or without a high-fat meal. Researchers will then feed mosquitoes on participants' blood to see how many survive, while also monitoring safety and how the drug behaves in the body.
