New 4-Step teaching method could boost midwifery skills
NCT ID NCT07530822
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a special 4-step teaching method (called the Peyton model) helps midwifery students learn prenatal care better than standard training. 64 students were split into two groups and tested on their knowledge, skills, confidence, anxiety, and satisfaction. The goal is to see if this teaching approach leads to better-prepared midwives.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Peyton Model Training (a 4-step instructional method)
What this could lead to
If this teaching method works well, it could improve how midwifery students learn prenatal care, potentially leading to better care for pregnant women.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-center study with only 64 students, so results may not apply to all training programs. The study is about education, not a medical treatment.
