First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a new substance called [18F]-fluoromannitol, used in PET scans, to see if it is safe and how it spreads in the body. Ten healthy adults aged 18-75 will receive the tracer and be monitored for side effects. The goal is to gather safety data so this tracer can later help detect infections in people with conditions like sickle cell disease or joint implants.
