Radioactive tracer could help surgeons spot hidden cancer
NCT ID NCT02285192
Summary
This study is testing whether injecting a small amount of radioactive sugar (18F-FDG) into the cervix before a PET/CT scan can create a clearer picture of which lymph nodes contain cancer. Researchers want to see if this method helps surgeons better identify and remove cancerous nodes during operations for early-stage cervical and high-grade endometrial cancers. The goal is to improve surgical planning by making cancer spread more visible on scans.
