New scan could spot deadly blood clots earlier

NCT ID NCT04022915

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new type of PET scan designed to find fresh blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism) and legs (deep vein thrombosis). Researchers wanted to see if this special scan, which uses a radioactive tracer that sticks to clots, could provide a clearer picture than current tests. The study involved 6 adults who had recently been diagnosed with a significant blood clot.
