New scan could help doctors see if Kids' brain tumors are responding to treatment

NCT ID NCT05555550

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a special PET-MRI scan using a tracer called 18F-Fluciclovine can help doctors see how children with low-grade gliomas (a type of brain tumor) are responding to treatment. About 30 children and young adults will get the scan before starting therapy, then again at 3 months and 1 year. The goal is to see if changes in the scan match changes seen on standard MRI, which could lead to better ways to monitor these tumors.
