New scan could end surgery for endometriosis diagnosis
NCT ID NCT07523997
First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study explores whether a total-body PET/CT scan can identify endometriosis without the need for surgery. About 30 women with suspected endometriosis will receive two scans using special tracers that highlight bleeding and scarring. The scan results will be compared with findings from their planned surgery to see if the scans can reliably spot the disease.
