What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Perturbation-based balance training (a type of physical therapy that uses controlled pushes or movements to improve balance reactions)

What this could lead to

If effective, this training could become a standard therapy to improve balance and reduce fall risk in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.

What could go wrong

This is a small, completed trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to all children with cerebral palsy. The training requires specialized equipment and supervision.
