One-Size-Fits-All sepsis treatment may be harming patients, new study tests custom care

NCT ID NCT07009665

Summary

This study is testing if a personalized approach to giving fluids is safer and more effective than the standard one-size-fits-all method for treating sepsis in the emergency room. Sepsis is a life-threatening reaction to infection that requires rapid treatment. Researchers will compare two groups: one receiving fluids based on how their heart responds to each dose, and another receiving the standard fixed amount, to see which leads to better recovery with fewer complications.
