New personalized treatment tested to fight deadly infection after surgery

Summary
This study is testing whether adding a special immune-boosting drug called Pentaglobin to standard care helps patients with a severe abdominal infection called peritonitis. Researchers will enroll 200 very sick patients to see if the treatment reduces organ failure and death. A key goal is to find biological markers that predict which patients benefit most, guiding future personalized treatment.
