First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a personalized approach to managing fluids during brain surgery in children with Moyamoya disease, a rare condition where key brain arteries narrow. Instead of standard blood pressure monitoring, doctors will use each child's baseline heart function to guide fluid delivery. The goal is to reduce temporary stroke-like episodes after surgery. About 94 children will take part.
