Gene test could spare cancer patients from brutal chemo side effects

NCT ID NCT07158164

Summary

This study aims to make a common chemotherapy treatment safer by using a genetic test. It will check if adjusting the drug dose based on a patient's specific gene (DPYD) reduces severe side effects compared to the standard dose. The trial includes 100 adults with cancers like colorectal, breast, or head and neck cancer who are starting this type of chemotherapy.
