Could a vaccine made from your own tumor fight advanced cancer?
NCT ID NCT05807035
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This early-stage trial is testing a personalized vaccine made from a patient's own tumor tissue. The goal is to see if it is safe and can help the immune system recognize and attack advanced solid cancers. About 30 adults with advanced solid tumors who have already tried other treatments will receive the vaccine, either alone or with standard care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- autologous tumor vaccine (Radvax) with polysaccharide adjuvant
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a personalized treatment that helps control advanced solid cancers by training the immune system to attack the tumor.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 30 people, so it is primarily testing safety, not effectiveness. The vaccine may not shrink tumors or improve survival, and there is a risk of side effects like immune reactions.
