Scientists test custom brain zaps for stubborn depression
NCT ID NCT05537285
Summary
This study tested whether customizing a magnetic brain stimulation treatment could help people with hard-to-treat depression who struggle to feel pleasure. 60 participants received either personalized stimulation, standard stimulation, or a sham (placebo) treatment over one week. Researchers compared how well each approach reduced depression symptoms and improved the ability to experience enjoyment.
