Scientists tune brain waves to fight depression

NCT ID NCT06572683

Summary

This study is testing a new, personalized approach to brain stimulation therapy for major depression. Researchers are trying to find the exact stimulation frequency that works best for each person's unique brain circuit, rather than using the same frequency for everyone. The study will enroll 84 adults with hard-to-treat depression over 4.5 years to compare personalized frequencies against the standard treatment.
