First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at a protein called pentraxin in the gum fluid of teeth that support fixed dentures. The goal was to find early signs of gum disease that are not visible during a regular checkup. 90 adults who needed fixed dentures and had no visible gum inflammation took part. Researchers measured pentraxin levels to see if they could detect hidden gum problems.
