First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether a PENG block (a type of nerve block) can reduce inflammation and improve survival in 60 older adults (over 65) having hip fracture surgery. Researchers measured blood markers of inflammation and tracked deaths within 30 days. The goal was to see if this pain-blocking technique could lead to better recovery and shorter hospital stays.
