Nerve block may ease pain and speed recovery for kids after hip surgery

Summary
This study looks at whether adding a special nerve block (PENG block) to standard spinal anesthesia can lower inflammation and pain in children aged 3 to 8 having hip surgery. One hundred children will be randomly assigned to receive either spinal anesthesia alone or spinal anesthesia plus the nerve block. The main goal is to measure changes in a blood marker of inflammation before and after surgery, along with pain levels and need for pain medication.
