First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) can reduce harmful bacteria and improve gum health around dental implants. Thirty-five healthy adults with at least two missing teeth received PEMF treatment. Researchers measured changes in bacteria types and gum tissue volume. The goal was to see if PEMF can help control inflammation and prevent implant-related gum disease.
