First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

This trial tests a new surgical method to treat pelvic organ prolapse in women having a hysterectomy. The surgeon uses special ligaments to support the vaginal vault. Ten women will take part, and the study will measure how much the prolapse improves.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Mackenrodt uterosacral double ligaments suspension procedure

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer a more effective surgical option for treating pelvic organ prolapse in women undergoing hysterectomy.

What could go wrong

This is a very small early trial with only 10 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The procedure carries surgical risks like ureter injury.
