New exercise combo shows promise for bladder control in MS
NCT ID NCT07166809
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether adding Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) exercises to standard pelvic floor muscle training can improve bladder control in women with multiple sclerosis. Twenty-four women aged 28-54 completed an 8-week program, with half doing pelvic floor exercises alone and half adding DNS exercises. Researchers measured urinary symptoms, incontinence, and pelvic floor muscle function using questionnaires and muscle tests.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Pelvic floor muscle training and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization exercises
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a better non-drug exercise program to ease bladder problems in women with multiple sclerosis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial with only 24 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercises require supervision and may not help all types of urinary symptoms.
