Pelvic floor therapy put to the test against endometriosis pain

NCT ID NCT07733583

First seen Jul 29, 2026 · Last updated Jul 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

Endometriosis often causes long-lasting pelvic pain that can disrupt daily life. This trial tests whether specialized pelvic floor physical therapy, combined with a structured exercise program, can lower pain more than a placebo version of the therapy. Women aged 18 to 45 with confirmed endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups and followed for 12 weeks.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
pelvic floor physical therapy and physical exercise
What this could lead to
If effective, this approach could offer a non-drug, non-surgical option for managing chronic pelvic pain in endometriosis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 64 participants. The placebo effect is strong in pain studies, so results may not show a clear benefit.
