Mud bath for your wrist? new study tests peloidotherapy for carpal tunnel relief
NCT ID NCT07417722
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding mud therapy (peloidotherapy) to standard care (a wrist splint and home exercises) can improve pain and hand function in people with mild to moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. 70 adults took part, with half receiving the mud treatment. Researchers measured pain, hand strength, daily activity, and nerve ultrasound before, during, and after treatment. The goal was to see if the mud therapy offers extra relief beyond the usual splint and exercises.
