Summary
This study tested whether adding peer support and online tools to basic health education helps college students manage their weight and improve their mood. Researchers enrolled 216 full-time students and compared three groups over six months: one with only monthly talks and emailed tips, another adding peer mentors and a chat group, and a third with a custom app featuring lessons, expert Q&As, and self-tracking. The goal was to find a low-cost, scalable way to help students stay healthy and happy.
